Comic Racks Episode 40 – The Dinky-sode

Posted by geeksyndicate on July 9, 2009

comicrackslogo

Welcome to another exciting episode of Comic Racks, bringing all things geek from the girls’ perspective.

This fortnight the Ladies finally succeed at recording a shorter episode, jam-packing it with gallons of pure awesome.

With no main topic springing to mind, it’s Reviewsville this fotnight, as the Racks cover such gems as Scud: The Disposable Assassin, Crossed, Science of Sleep, Neccessary Evil, the Marvel Divas preview…and more! Iz scares Stace with the idea of creepy clowns in Psychoville, Stace upsets Iz with this weeks Tail, and the girls share a mutual love for Secret Six.

On top of all this joy comes two awesomely-wicked songs in Rack Music, some of the lamest Peeves ever (but damn, they’re annoying!) and, apologies to Jimmy Bott; some Barrowman news! Huzzah!

Enjoy, chaps!

Comic Racks – Episode 39 Ask The Racks Part Something-or-Other,

Posted by geeksyndicate on June 29, 2009

comicrackslogo

Welcome to a spangly new episode of Comic Racks; insanely rambling just for you since 2007!

In this episode, the ladies attempt to do a shorter episode using alarms which don’t go off properly, get ignored, or aren’t set at all, resulting in this 1 hour and 45 min extravaganza!

Join the Racks as they get over-excited by Deadpool related news items, other exciting new podcasts and comics galore. Spoilertastic reviews include Batman & Robin #1, Terminator Salvation, Eekamoo, Cancertown, Pwanda,Thugs #1, Fear Agent, Chew #1 and a shedload more besides.

In the Ask The Racks section, the girls struggle to cast actors in comic movies, Stacey desperately attempts to explain Deadpool’s name (and probably failed miserably) and Iz explains why superhero comics make her run away in fear. Also discussed are boobtastic manga figures, the comics that made us nerds and what catchphrases the super-awesome Comic Racks figures would have if ever they were made.

Playing out this episode is the worlds most ridiculous, offensive, foul and downright hilarious song, Skeletor VS Beastman by Gnarkill. If you value your childhood, you should probably skip this song…

Enjoy!

Comic Racks – Episode 38 – Frosty, Foster and the Hangover Kid, The Return of the Rackette

Posted by geeksyndicate on June 11, 2009

The Racks are joined by a new Rackette – Mr Luke Foster, co-host of Nine Panel Nerds, creator of Moon Freight 3 web comic, and a very very nice chap. We ramble with Luke reminiscing about our super-cool weekends: Stacey got to “squee” (and dribble) at Maximo Park, Iz got to swoon at Tony Curtis, and Luke got to hang out with NYCs finest at the CNI Ep 200 recording.

We manage to cover a thumping amount of comic reviews including: Caretakers Uncannily Nasty Tales, Nova #25, Scott Pilgrim Vol 1, Tank Girl Remastered Vols 1 and 2, Doctor Who: The Time Machinations, Sinister Dexter, and a coupla films are thrown in for good measure too.

We actually manage to keep the episode to an hour and 44 which is a flippin miracle as we got distracted at every turn, tangenting about Jammy Dodgers, Ryan Reynolds, and attempted spider homicide.

Comic Racks – Episode 35 – SPOILERS FOR EVERYTHING!

Posted by geeksyndicate on April 30, 2009

In this episode, the girls somehow cram an absolute shedload of awesome into 1 hour and 45 minutes of podcast joy! Although generally lacking in news, the Ladies Wot Rack more than make up for it with loads of reviews, tops and tails, tangents and a nice big chat about upcoming nerd movies they fancy (as well as actors they fancy a bit, too… wink.gif )

It’s interview time again with Shawn Pryor of PKD Media joining the Racks from Kentucky, USA.

Shawn is the founder of PKD Media, and creator of Mercury and The Murd, Exo-1 & the Rock-Solid Steelbots, and many more works in progress.

The Racks discover a kindred spirit in conversational tangents, and the interview is made up of more outakes
than real content, but we do manage to have in depth discussions on how get into writing, self publishing, self promotion, what PKD Media are up to, what swines Diamond are, comic book film adaptations, Amy Winehouse needing a hug, and most important of all – favourite swear words and favourite type of biscuit.

Reviews include: Flight of the Conchords, Wonderful Wizard of Oz #2, Prince Caspian, and Buffy #21

In a bid to save your ears from bleeding mid-episode, the main topic (featuring quite poor sound quality clips of the Racks live from the Birmingham Hippodrome) has been shunted to the end of the episode. Listen at your own peril!

Comic Racks Episode 28

Posted by geeksyndicate on January 14, 2009

comicrackslogo

After muchos delay due to Christmas, New Years, sickness, coughs and technical lameness, the Racks are back for 2009, yo!… Ahem… Anyway, in this mammoth New Years episode, the ladies tackle some important topics such as Iz’s middle name, reviewing comics without having read them and making up brand new words. Stace disagrees with nearly everything Iz has to say, the girls ramble on a little too much about Christmas and New Year, and Elmo makes his Racks debut!

Episode 28- Linkety linkage! Woot!
