TV Review – Merlin Series 2, Episode 8: The Sins of the Father
Posted by geeksyndicate on December 2, 2009

Pfennig has been a bit busy this week due to zombie velociraptor attacks or some such nonsense, which she will soon have sorted. I’m the understudy reviewer, and I’m afraid I’m more rambly and less chronological. Don’t worry, guys, she’ll be back soon.
Heads up: this review is pretty much one giant spoiler.

Another Doctor Who Waters of Mars review
Posted by geeksyndicate on December 1, 2009
This review was orginally posted as a comment by Darren Baker to the orginal Waters of Mars review by Andrew. As it was a great contrast I thought it would be cool to post this up as well.
Over to you Darren.

TV Review – Fringe Season 2 Episode 9 ‘August’
Posted by geeksyndicate on December 1, 2009

This is perhaps my first series mythology heavy episode of Fringe. I am a little wary of these in case it goes all X-files which became a bit like ouroboros – the symbol of a snake eating its own tail. I try and keep spoilers to minimum but it’s going to be hard.

TV Review: The Sarah Jane Adventures – Season 3
Posted by geeksyndicate on November 30, 2009
A third season of Sarah Jane and in a Doctor Who light year how did it fair?
The acting of the regulars was of the normal quality which is to say 99% better than most child acting or acting for children but not at the peak. Some of the guest stars did have a tendency to go all ‘play away’ (surprisingly not Floella Benjamin reappearing as Professor Rivers of the Pharos Institute.)

TV Review: Doctor Who – Waters of Mars
Posted by geeksyndicate on November 30, 2009
At long last it came. The trailers had me bristling with excitement. Here be spoilers below.
The story had a strong interesting threat. The set design was good. There was realistic feel to the Bowie Base One whose naming was an act of genius The Doctor was in conflict, there was even a nod to the Ice Warriors. So what went wrong?

Warehouse 13 Season 1 Overview/Review
Posted by geeksyndicate on November 27, 2009

Consider a world made up of different realities each lightly superimposed on the other. Jostling for attention from a being – let’s call it the viewer – who is unsure of which is intended and which an unhappy accident – this is the world of Warehouse 13. But I don’t think it’s supposed to be.
Warehouse 13 features agents of the Warehouse, both a building in South Dakota and an organisation that seeks, detains and protects ‘artefacts.’ The artefacts take various forms but have essentially become empowered through electro-magnetic energies to have special abilities. They are frequently tied to a notable person – John Derringer, Edger Allan Poe, Lewis Carol for a few examples. This is not a recent phenomenon however and the warehouse has existed till ancient times always based in the ‘top nation’ of the time.

Fringe Season 2 Episode 8 ‘Of human action’
Posted by geeksyndicate on November 26, 2009
First of all a confession – I’m new to Fringe. Not a Virgin but still a bit ‘fumbly’ having come in on Episode 2 of Season 2 so I may make some damming error of continuity. Damming errors of judgement or taste are all my own work.
