With a big budget film due out in summer 2o10 based on the popular game series is anyone really surprised that Ubisoft would want to make the best of the publicity with a new game?
I didn’t really get into the last Prince of Persia game but overall I’ve been a fan of the series (especially Sands of Time) so I’m interested to see what they come up with this time around.
My question is will this be a game in its own right or an adaptation of the Film. Time will tell I guess. Read the rest of this entry »
While I try my best to complete the first Mass Effect(damm you Assassin’s Creed 2 and Modern Warfare 2) so I can be all ready for part 2 here are some screenshots for you folks.
A couple of days ago, I was introduced to an incredibly eerie zombie-outbreak simulator made by BinarySpace, using Google Maps imagery and editable parameters that let you choose how armed you want the civilians to be, how fast you want the zombies to move, and other factors that speed up or otherwise change the shape of the spread of the zombies.
The simulator seems to have been developed in the pursuit of creating a web based casual game, wherein you control a squad of police trying to hold off the zombie hordes.
That game, “Class 3 Outbreak”, just got it’s first trailer:
2K Games have just announced that the first DLC for their visually idiosyncratic and lovely RPG action game Borderlands is now available for download.
It is called “The Zombie Island Of Dr Ned”, and introduces a peculiar gothic-horror element into the post-apocalyptic game world.
Tasked with keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, Dr. Ned does his job a little too well, creating flesh eating zombies and other ghastly abominations that now run rampant in this region. Players will have to work alongside Dr. Ned as they embark on an explosive journey to cure the decaying inhabitants of Jakobs Cove in this expansion filled with new formidable enemies, new grueling quests and rare loot drops.
It looks… well, gorgeous might not be quite the right word:
I’ve always been more into Soulcalibur than Tekken, despite the former prominently featuring one of my biggest game and storytelling pet-peeves, but Tekken’s 14 year history of delivering kick-ass can’t be denied.
So I have to acknowledge that if you’ve got a PSP, this is some pretty good news for you:
The killer stocking filler is on its way as NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe announces that development is complete on TEKKEN 6 for PSP, with the game hitting retailers across EMEA and PAL Asia on 11th December. Containing all the bone-crushing, over-the-top excitement of its big brothers released on Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 in October, plus ad-hoc wi-fi versus battling, TEKKEN 6 for PSP lets players fight for the status of TEKKEN god whenever and wherever they choose.
The game included all 18 battle stages from the console versions, and 40 playable characters, but the real kicker is the fact that you can use the PSP’s awesome connectivity to kick the hell out of your mates, wherever and whenever you choose.*
It goes a little something like this:
*Dependent, I guess, on your friends being available, having a PSP, and owning the game.
Still not sure about the casting but I will admit that this looks a lot better than the teaser trailer I watched. There are some great visuals and looks like a shed load of action and daring do.
If nothing else it looks fun and sometimes that’s all I’m after.
If this idea lives up to half the potential that a Zombie MMO could have then Undead Labs could have one hell of a game in the making. Imagine it…a left for dead style shooter(although no specific game type has been announced as it ) set in a persistent world, how cool would that be?
Still it’s early days yet but check the press release below for all the info.
If there is one thing I’ve taken away from both the Uncharted games is that I would love to see the antics of treasure hunter Nathan Drake up on the big screen.
I knew the first game, Drake’s Fortune, had been optioned and a screenwriter attached, who later pulled out, but then everything went kind of quiet on that front (or maybe I was too busy playing Uncharted 2 to care). It seems that in my gaming nirvana the wheels of Hollywood were still turning and as a result a screenwriting duo have been given the job of adapting the story for the big screen.
Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer who previous credits included Sahara, which is a very similar set to Uncharted so at least these fellas are no strangers to the adventure genre.
I have to admit that as much as I would love to see this on a big screen there that other side of me that thinks that it’s pretty much an interactive big budget movie anyway on the console so is this really worth doing? I guess I’ll get the answer to that question when I eventually sit down to watch the film on opening night.
No cast *cough* Nathan Fillion as Nathan Please *cough*or production start date has been announced yet . Rest assured though I’m be following this project very closely.
Band Hero: For the people in your house who don’t like rock music
Xbox360
I love the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises. I can usually look at the back of the box and say yes I know at least half those songs. The trouble is most of my friends and family barely know a quarter of them on each of them and then they only like three, so I end up changing discs all night so everyone can play at least one song they know and like. Band Hero is ideal if you live in one of these households it has tracks from Taylor Swift (that country and western singer who was rudely interrupted at the MTV awards) to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (a ska punk band best know over here as being that band in the film Clueless). It even contains classic bands such as Culture Club (for your mum), Queen (for your dad) and Spice Girls (for anyone who wasn’t listening to Culture Club or Queen in the 90s).
