Adam Hamdy and Dave Golding, the team that bought us the awesome hi-tech, superhero thriller The Hunter have now set their sights the sci-fi genre with their upcoming comic Starmaker: Leviathan.
I saw some preview pages for Starmaker at two comic conventions and the art was fantastic and huge leap from the art in The Hunter series (which was bloody good anyway).
I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this as a I thought Adam and Dave made a great team on The Hunter.
For all the info check out the press release.

Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce signing by top comics artist and writer LIAM SHARP. He will be signing Gears of War at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Thursday 10th December 6 – 7pm.
Artist, writer, publisher and some-time rocker frontman, Liam’s career spans from the solid roots of 2000AD through the hallowed halls of Marvel and Wildstorm and into designing a Heavy Metal magazine strip for Playboy model Tiffany Taylor. In 2004, he set up his own publishing company, Mam Tor, and rapidly expanded the brand into the independent comic market – including the publication of the award-winning Mam Tor: Event Horizon.
Now working for DC, Liam has provided the illustrations for the game-based Gears of War graphic novel that tells the story of Marcus Fenix’s Delta Squad… and what really happened between the Lightmass bombing and the opening of the second game.
He has also written and published God Killers, a powerfully visual collection of novellas and short stories dealing with an epic, time-travelling hero and building to a cataclysmic finale of emptiness, nothing and ‘vile space’.

A crew of officers at an armored transport security firm risk their lives when they embark on the ultimate heist.against their own company. Armed with a seemingly fool-proof plan, the men plan on making off with a fortune with harm to none. But when an unexpected witness interferes, the plan quickly unravels and all bets are off.
I’ve seen a few trailers for this now and it looks like a pretty solid action film.
The film hits our screens January 22nd 2010.

Deep in the heart of Maine, Haven is a town where people with supernatural abilities have migrated for generations because it mutes their powers, allowing them to lead normal lives. At least, until recently. When hot-shot FBI agent Audrey Parker is called to Haven to solve the murder of a local ex-con, she catches the killer but uncovers a much deeper mystery about this town. Each week, as the town-peoples’ dormant powers begin to express themselves, Audrey will try to keep these supernatural forces at bay while unraveling the many mysteries of Haven – including one surrounding her own surprising past in this extraordinary place.
I’ve not read the Stephen King short story on which this upcoming TV show has been based by I like the premise. It has an air of Heroes and Eureka about it.
It does have the potential to turn into a ‘ Secret power of the week’ style show but it’s very early days yet to start being negative about it.
I love this kind of supernatural show when it’s done right so I’ll be following it’s progress with interest.
Check out the Press Release for all the info.
