SFX WEEKENDER 3 COUNTDOWN: Author’s Galore!
Posted by geeksyndicate on 24/01/2012
One of the great things about the SFX Weekender is the huge line up of authors on site for you to mingle with and this year is no exception.
Looking at the line up it seems like the SFX Ninjas have been doing their best to kidnap even loads more Sci-Fi/ fantasy authors for the event than previous years. It left me wondering if these authors will be waking up on 2nd Feb in a Number 6 like dream state as they adjust to their first day of captivity in the SFX Weekender village.
I attended quite a few of the author’s panels during the last weekender and got a lot from them so I would recommend, if this is your first weekender, that you check out a few over the course of the event. There are also a number of stands selling a lot of the featured author’s titles so if you do take a fancy to a particular author you won’t have to look too far to pick up their latest book.
This is by no means and exhaustive list but below is a sampling of some of the authors attending.
- Anne Lyle
- Andy Remic (who is launching the omnibus edition of his Clockwork Vampire Chronicles trilogy – exclusively at the Weekender .
- Gav Thorpe
- Lavie Tidhar
- David Tallerman
- Adam Christopher (whose novel Empire State we recently reviewed)
- Guy Haley
- Angry Robot‘s publishing director Marc Gascoigne
- Dan Abnet
- Plus, the rest of the Angry Robot editorial crew will be on hand.
- Ken MacLeod,
- Michael Cobley
- Benedict Jacka
- Jon Courtenay Grimwood
Authors attending from the Gollancz stable include -
- Paul McAuley,
- Stephen Baxter
- Ben Aaronovitch
- Al Reynolds
