So, the plundering of old cult gamer IPs continue with EA/Starbreeze’s remake (or reimagining) of Bullfrog Classic Syndicate. In the spirit of the age it’ll be a First-Person Shooter with RPG elements, but speaking as someone still loving the heck out of Deux Ex: Human Revolution I can’t say i see that as a bad thing.
New of the game has been around for a couple of weeks but the Official Trailer is out today. And here it is:
A lot of that looks like gameplay footage, with some very cool looking abilities.

Dark Futures is a 20-book exploration of the fears of our futures, an odd sub-genre of Science Fiction that draws in on the society of the time and projects it forward, into uncomfortable visions of the world to be. The idea is the same across many books, the results, very different. This week we take a welcome turn for the lighter, with some fast-moving satire.

As with many things, it all comes down to money. The Guardian announced that BBC has decided to cancel BBC3′s Doctor Who Confidential as part of the company’s cost cutting programs. The show, which had been airing since 2005, was a behind-the-scenes look at the making of long-running sci-fi drama also included interviews with the cast and crew. It will come to a close at the end of this series.
So what will end up in BBC3′s early evening time slots? Mainly repeats of BBC1 shows in any effort to create more synergy between the two channels.
A spokeswoman for the BBC said: “Doctor Who Confidential has been a great show for BBC3 over the years but our priority now is to build on original British commissions, unique to the channel.”

It’s fair to say that most British people’s knowledge of Belgian and French comics begin and end with just two series – Tin-Tin and Asterix – be it from English translations in the library or the animated adventures rented from video shops. For Geek Syndicate I am looking a little deeper, continuing my excursion courtesy of the wonderful Cinebook who translate and publish for the British market.
To this end I found myself reading Lucky Luke last night. Now, this is a cowboy character that I was actually vaguely familiar with from my GCSE French days, when the cursed Mrs Weir dumped a book on each desk in the expectation that pictures would somehow make the languge fit into our brains better. (Non.) I always wondered whether it was any good or not but sadly never became proficient enough at French to find out and (until now) never got my hands on an English translation. One of the creators is Goscinny, of Asterix fame, so my expectations and hopes were high.
