2012 – Clips and Images

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

Seriously the more I see of this film the more I can’t wait to give it a watch. Sure it’s going to be cheesy and I’ll probably be able to predict the dialogue and plot before I hear and see it but that’s what I expect in my disaster flicks. Who knows this one may prove me wrong and  throw out some stuff I wasn’t expecting but to be honest so long as they give me tidal waves, volcanoes erupting, whole cities collapsing, epic presidential speeches and last minute escapes then I’ll be happy.

A Happy Halloween message from the cast of Being Human

The cast of Being Human are getting ready for Halloween this week and they want to know what you’re dressing up as? to celebrate they’ve recorded a special message to fans, and are They’re also giving some of their top tips for costumes and dressing up as a ghost, werewolf or a vampire, The cast tell all of what’s best to become werewolf and the techniques plus how to make your own fake blood. They also hint at things to come nearer the show’s launch, urging fans Make sure if you’re dressing up and going trick or treating this Halloween to take a photo of themselves if they’re dressing up this Halloween…

I really enjoyed the first series of this which is weird as I didn’t like the premise to begin with.  Series two is on the way next year and I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for our resident vampire, ghost and werewolf next.

Advert Break – Blood: The Last Vampire released on Blu-ray and DVD Monday November 2!‏

This year’s coolest, bloodiest vampire movie, Blood The Last Vampire comes to Blu-ray & DVD on Monday 2 November 2009. The film was directed and produced by the impressive combined talents of Chris Nahon (Chasing the Dragon, Kiss of the Dragon) and William Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hero), and is based on the hugely popular cult hit anime series of the same name. Starring Gianna Jun as Saya and Allison Miller (Kings, Desperate Housewives) as Alice McKee this samurai wielding fight-fest is not to be missed.

Slick and highly stylised, this martial arts creation tells the story of Saya a young half-vampire, half-human, left to fight the demons that have invaded the earth. On the surface, Saya is a beautiful 16-year-old, but underneath that youthful exterior hides a tormented soul. When her human father was brutally murdered by Onigen, the evil lord of all vampires, when she was just a child Saya was bound by an oath to avenge his death.

After joining forces with a shadowy society known only as the Council, the troubled young halfling is dispatched to an American military base in Tokyo. In exchange for help in tracking down her arch nemesis Onigen, Saya goes undercover at the local high school to seek out and destroy her demon classmates… but gets drawn into an unexpected and unlikely friendship with a human in the process.

Armed with her trusty samurai, mastery of the martial arts and desire for retribution Saya faces her biggest challenge yet in a climatic conflict. The heroine must draw on her inner strength and super human skills to face her foe and protect her vulnerable human charge, as an intense series of swordfights leads her to the deadliest vampire of all.

This high-octane production fights its way onto Blu-ray and DVD on Monday 2 November 2009; Blood the Last Vampire is most certainly a cut above the rest.

Circle of Eight – A new web series comes to Myspace

It seems that with Riese and Girl Number 9 about to hit the net we seem to be caught in the grip of web series fever at the moment. Now we can add another name to the list ‘Circle of Eight’

I’ve set to see any episodes of this new supernatural web series but if the trailer is anything to go by I won’t be disappointed when I finally get to watch it. I’m also intrigued by the idea that the series is interactive though not too sure how that’s going to work at the moment.

FILM REVIEW: Up

Disney Pixar often imitated never duplicated proves again why it sits on the top of the mountain when it comes to 3d movies.

Up is the story of Carl Fredricksen on a voyage to South America by way of a homemade airship in memory of his late wife and Russell who ends up coming along for the ride after believing a joke too much, on the way they meet exotic birds, a mad adventurer and a pack smarter than your average dogs.
