In second major outing of the current Justice League, the team joins up with the Justice Society of America to find several time-lost members of the Legion of Super-Heroes, help them regain their memories, and find out what exactly their mission to our time was about.
This book contains issues of both “Justice League of America” and “Justice Society of America,” so it technically serves as the second trade paperback for both series. Both series writers, Brad Meltzer and Geoff Johns, were on hand to pen the story, which was firmly entrenched in a lot of the pre-“Final Crisis” buildup.
So it’s seems that 80′s classic The A-Team is finally going to get that big screen treatment they’ve been talking about for years. Ridley Scott is attached to the project as a producer (shame he’s not directing).
The speculation can now officially begin on the casting of the infamous roles of Hannibal, Faceman, Howling Mad Murdock and B A.
I’m actually quite excited about this. In my strange world as this is a movie version and not a remake of the tv show I’m kinda of ok with the idea of a different cast. They did the same thing but in reverse with both Stargate and Buffy(wow how bad was that movie?) so it could work if handled right.
I just hope it sticks to it’s roots and we get a fun action movie rather than some gritty, realistic bourne type movie.
Oh and Ridley mate if we can have a little cameo of an open-top jeep that flips over ten times and everyone gets out with out a mark on them that would be sweet.
Before I start waxing nostalgic I figure I should introduce the column and it’s not so humble or sane writer. I am Chris Hansbrough. I’ve been a comic editor for about 2 years making just enough to not be homeless outside of the time I was living in my car. It’s kind of homey so I can’t complain. I’ve also done some story and creative work on some independent games. No money in it but it’s a lot of fun getting to actually work in the fields that are your biggest hobbies. Outside of that I used to work in the gaming and comic media fields for Silver Bullet and before that multiple RPG gaming sites back in the 90′s. It’s damn nice to get back to that.
In a bid to save your ears from bleeding mid-episode, the main topic (featuring quite poor sound quality clips of the Racks live from the Birmingham Hippodrome) has been shunted to the end of the episode. Listen at your own peril!
Set in the epic world of Bhumi, DevaShard chronicles the life of a radiant son robbed of his birthright and plunged into a land gripped by darkness. In this vivid world of magical beasts, mighty gods and cursed daemons the hero must look deep within himself to find the strength he desperately needs if he is to survive the evil threatening to extinguish him.
Over at Insomnia Publications they’ve just put an interview with Stephen Downey, the artist on the upcoming Cancertown.
I read some preview pages from the comic and liked what I saw and looking forward to seeing it in print. Head over to Insomnia’s blog to have a read of the interview.
Now I love Matrix, Bourne and all those other movies where the fighting is usually lots of martial arts and quick camera cuts. For a moment though lets take a pause and remember what real fighting is.
I was a huge fan of the orginal mini series (the full series was rubbish though) so I’m not sure how I feel about a remake. Whatever I think the powers that be at ABC have decided to ignore my ever wise counsel and greenlight a pilot.
This time round the story will be different than we remember and focus on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent and her son. It seems that when the vistors arrive the kid takes a shine to them (I mean what isn’t there to love about Hamster eating lizards?).
One thing is certain. If they don’t get Marc (Donavan) Singer and Jane (Diana) Badler in as cameos I will not be a happy man.
Looking for an extra challenge with your wii fit? Well it loosk like you won’t have to weight (I know bad joke) much longer. Over at DVICE they are previewing the Riiflex (I think Wii Weights would have sounded better but what do I know). It basically transforms the Wiimote into a 2 or 5 pound dumbell.
Sounds like a cool use of the Wiimote to me and gives the Wiifit another string to add to it’s bow.
